Another Logo for the Books!

This logo we designed for Michelle, Inc. (based on her previous branding for Planet Joyride) was also chosen for inclusion in the LogoLounge Master Library. Each volume of the library will focus on a different category of logo designs.

Says the publisher, “Like our existing (and continuing) LogoLounge book series, the new Master Library books will bring you plenty of exemplary logo design work from creatives around the world.” We say, “groovy!” Check out some more logos we’ve created here…

Another Logo Award

We just heard that the logo we created for Eggers and Associates is going to be published in the first book of the Logo Lounge Master Library. The volume won’t be out for a year, but we’re quite pleased right here and now! Eggers & Associates is a medical device research and development company that needed a brand that was clean, strong and “precise” — a nice reflection of the high-tech products developed by Eggers. Our solution was to cut through a solid space with two “scalpels” to create the Eggers “E” mark.

New Wave Dave

We created this poster, blog and large banner as part of a campaign to promote our kids’ school fund raising auction. The theme is “80s party” in case you couldn’t tell, so we broke out the “Rock of the Eighties” on our iTunes and checked our collection of buttons, badges and photos for inspiration.

Focus the Nation Identity

Focus the Nation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing opportunities for community education on clean energy, sustained engagement with elected officials, networking youth initiatives, and developing clean energy leaders. Their branding needed to be inspirational, serious (yet spirited) and focused on governmental participation and clean energy. A lot to pack into a single image, but we think we succeeded.

Non-profit Branding

Here are a few samples from a re-branding project we are working on with web-developer, Herman Consulting. Funders’ Committee for Civic Participation (FCCP) supports other non-profit funding groups on a broad range of civic participation issues.

Logo Designs Make the Cut

We are patting ourselves on the back after learning that two logos we designed and illustrated were chosen by Logo Lounge for inclusion in their 5th compendium of logo designs. From the e-release:

For Book 5, there were 33,000 logos submitted for consideration and the caliber of work was exceptional. Each judge reviewed thousands of logos from around the world, each mark submitted by talented LogoLounge members. The final collection is not only an excellent point-in-time examination, it is full to the brim with inspiration, higher thinking, and craftsmanship. The new book will be released by Rockport Publishers in early Summer 2009

The chosen logos are the Green mark we did for Studio JDM, and the “Huge Head” mascot for Huge Magazine. Based on previous volumes of the books, we will be in very fine company.

Happy Anniversary!

Here’s a direct mail piece we did for JD Madison announcing their Annual Anniversary Sale. Each year a new logo for the sale is rolled-out for advertising, displays, window graphics, and more. This year’s logo was colorful and fun, reflecting the season of the sale. We even did some of the furniture photography for the sale.

New logos — just in time for Summer!

DBD+A designed these logos recently for two very unique clients. The first is for Eggers & Associates, a medical device research and development company with offices in Ohio and Oregon. The brand needed to be clean, strong and “precise” — a nice reflection of the high-tech products developed by Eggers. Our solution was to cut through a solid space with two “scalpels” to create the Eggers “E” mark.

This next logo was a re-brand for a personal and professional consulting company founded by Michelle DeAngelis, known from her many television appearances and her previous venture, Planet Joyride. A sought-after consultant, speaker, and coach, Michelle shows CEOs, managers, and individuals everywhere how to have a company, and a life, that “Doesn’t Suck.” In fact, her new website launches in August to coincide with the publication of her book, “Get A Life That Doesn’t Suck.”

Sign of things to come…

We’ve recently completed a new logo design for JD Madison’s new showroom expansion. The new space showcases ten new, higher-end home furnishing lines and needed a sub-branded identity that was similar to JD Madison, but that could stand on its own as well. The new showroom opens to the public on June 15th and will include many more information graphics, displays and signage created by DBD+A. Here’s the logo on the new exterior signage:
