Logo Designs Make the Cut

We are patting ourselves on the back after learning that two logos we designed and illustrated were chosen by Logo Lounge for inclusion in their 5th compendium of logo designs. From the e-release:

For Book 5, there were 33,000 logos submitted for consideration and the caliber of work was exceptional. Each judge reviewed thousands of logos from around the world, each mark submitted by talented LogoLounge members. The final collection is not only an excellent point-in-time examination, it is full to the brim with inspiration, higher thinking, and craftsmanship. The new book will be released by Rockport Publishers in early Summer 2009

The chosen logos are the Green mark we did for Studio JDM, and the “Huge Head” mascot for Huge Magazine. Based on previous volumes of the books, we will be in very fine company.

Happy Anniversary!

Here’s a direct mail piece we did for JD Madison announcing their Annual Anniversary Sale. Each year a new logo for the sale is rolled-out for advertising, displays, window graphics, and more. This year’s logo was colorful and fun, reflecting the season of the sale. We even did some of the furniture photography for the sale.

New logos — just in time for Summer!

DBD+A designed these logos recently for two very unique clients. The first is for Eggers & Associates, a medical device research and development company with offices in Ohio and Oregon. The brand needed to be clean, strong and “precise” — a nice reflection of the high-tech products developed by Eggers. Our solution was to cut through a solid space with two “scalpels” to create the Eggers “E” mark.

This next logo was a re-brand for a personal and professional consulting company founded by Michelle DeAngelis, known from her many television appearances and her previous venture, Planet Joyride. A sought-after consultant, speaker, and coach, Michelle shows CEOs, managers, and individuals everywhere how to have a company, and a life, that “Doesn’t Suck.” In fact, her new website launches in August to coincide with the publication of her book, “Get A Life That Doesn’t Suck.”

Gorge Games is in your face!

We created these full-page ads for the Gorge Games to be used in national sports-specific magazines. The client wanted an in-your-face concept that would appeal to adventure sports athletes, and we delivered!

Sample copy by DBD+A: “Think you’ve got what it takes? Gorge Games will thrash you, make you cry like a baby, and if you’re tough enough — make you a star. Come to the Pacific Northwest and battle the Gorge.”

Think globally, window shop locally

Here are some store graphics we did for Earth Class Mail in Seattle. This was the company’s first brick and mortar retail location, and was located next to the local post office to attract customers currently using P.O. Boxes. Video grabs are from the show “Start-up Junkies” viewable now at Hulu.com. Yours truly had a non-speaking part in a few episodes, and our branding, banner and marketing collateral designs make cameos as well.
