The Really World Wide Web

We just did a soft-launch of the new Wordress website we designed and built for The Oregon-Israel Business Alliance (OIBA). The bright, friendly and professional site using the colors green (for Oregon) and blue (for Israel) in a fresh way to elevate this group’s profile in the business landscape.

The OIBA connects companies, business professionals, governmental officials, universities, and economic development agencies to expand business and economic relations between the State of Oregon and the State of Israel.

Our hats are off to OIBA Secretary, Jeff Katz for being a great collaborator on this project, making it a truly enjoyable work experience.

Distillery Row Site in the Woo Showcase

The website we designed for Distillery Row was built in WordPress using a Woo theme as the base of the site. We’re happy to share that the nice people at Woo Themes liked what we did, and have added the site to their Featured section of their showcase. Here’s a bit of what they wrote: “I just wanted to reach out and say great job on the site! Seriously, it looks great and I definitely hope you’re enjoying the theme … we love what you’ve done with the site!”

Cool Site for the Coolest Photo Booth

The Photo Lounge is Portland’s Coolest Photo booth! And, now they have a website that matches their high-energy, fun and interactive photo shoots. The Photo Lounge is a great addition to wedding receptions, Bar Mitzvahs, company parties, charity events, birthday parties and just about any kind of event you can throw. Fun and crazy props, colorful backgrounds and their awesome professional photographers come together to create an experience you and your guests will love and remember! Check out their new site (built in WordPress for easy editing and updating) to learn more.

Lateral Lawyer Website

Sometimes simpler really is better. Especially when a web site is built to serve one main function: selling a new book on lateral legal recruiting by one of the experts in the field, Adam S. Weiss. The new book is available as an on-demand printed paperback, and as a digital book for the Kindle and the Nook. Almost everything  you need to know is on the home page. A blog that repurposes and expands on some of the book’s content casts a large net for SEO (search engine optimization). Simpler is sometimes better.

New Website for Distillery Row

We’ve just completed a soft-launch for the new Distillery Row Website. There’ll be more content and features added soon, but the new site, built on the WordPress publishing platform, is open for business! Take a look around and learn about the craft distilling revolution happening in Portland, and more specifically in the 20 city blocks of the SE Industrial Area. Meet the Row distilleries: Deco Distilling, House Spirits Distillery, Integrity Spirits, New Deal Distillery and Stone Barn Brandyworks, and plan your next tasting tour of the Row!

Web Banner Ads in Pink and Gold

Here’s something a little different from DBDA: a series of web banner ads for the 2011 Seattle Erotic Ball. The campaign we designed included posters, postcards, and print and web advertising was full of loud colors, grungy textures and gothic type. As you can see, we’re fully adept at many different design styles and aesthetics.

Smells Like a Magazine

Here’s a new site we designed, that’s actually a resurrection of a site previously online from 2006-2008. Smells Like Pop is a music magazine published “by pops and people who smell like pops.” Writers for the site hail from up and down the West Coast from Portland, to the SF Bay Area to Los Angeles. The site is co-edited by David Bailey (DBDA), so now you can hear what kind of music makes him feel zippy!

What a good site you are!

Meet this cute new WordPress website we created for Muffinhead, a local start-up that makes dog jackets from recycled “people clothes.” This lovable scamp is just a puppy now, but thanks to the powerful back-end tools in WordPress its owner can help him grow into a full-grown “big-dog” of a website.

Fully-baked Site with Sprinkles!

Fullbloom Baking Company Website

We’ve been working on this site for a little while now with San Francisco firm, Feldish Design and we’re pleased to announce that the official website for Fullbloom Baking Company is now live! This was a very fun collaboration with Creative Director, Debbie Glass of Feldish, who brings a refined eye and playful sense of color to all of her work. The Fullbloom branding developed by Feldish was indeed a pleasure to work with, and you can see for yourself how the design just makes you feel happy.

It’s also a nice reflection of the core values and progressive philosophy of the company. Fullbloom operates with good business principles, bakes with organic and sustainable ingredients, and has made their facility LEED-Platinum certified — the greenest you can get! Plus, their products taste really, really great!

Subtle and Sophisticated Website

Wendy J. Cook

DBD+A just completed a new WordPress-based website for Passive Investment Advisor Marketing expert, Wendy J. Cook Communications. The site nicely reflects the company’s sensibilities and no-nonsense approach to addressing their clients’ unique marketing challenges. Company founder, Wendy Cook is not just a great writer and marketer, but a very nice person to work with as well!
