DBD+A Site Wins Smackdown!

OK, we actually won the Showcase Showdown–the inaugural site design contest from Woo Themes, not an actual smackdown. But our site did receive 80% of the total votes! Just think what we could do for your website’s design… Really, think about it. Here’s what some of the responder’s had to say about our site’s design:

DBDA in Showcase Showdown!

After we designed our new website using one of Woo Themes’ superb and sublime WordPress themes, we submitted our URL to their customized theme showcase. Now, we’re happy to report that our site is part of Woo Themes’ very first Showcase Showdown! Check out the contest, and don’t forget to vote!

New Wave Dave

We created this poster, blog and large banner as part of a campaign to promote our kids’ school fund raising auction. The theme is “80s party” in case you couldn’t tell, so we broke out the “Rock of the Eighties” on our iTunes and checked our collection of buttons, badges and photos for inspiration.

Focus the Nation on this Website

We just completed this Website design for Focus the Nation in partnership with Herman Consulting. Focus the Nation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing opportunities for community education on clean energy, sustained engagement with elected officials, networking youth initiatives, and developing clean energy leaders. The site is currently in beta, but should be fully operational soon! We also designed the logo and branding for this great organization.

Who knew…?!

We were pleasantly surprised to find that our Website, Huge Magazine was chosen by Commerce Magazine as one of the 26 Reasons Why Design Rules in Portland!

We remember the phone interview, but forgot about it entirely when we never received a copy in the mail. Well, luckily we stumbled upon the feature in a Blog post by local motion design firm, Kamp Grizzly that also had a link to Huge.

Thankfully, we now have a copy of the issue in our hot little hands and are happy to share it with you! Click on the images at left for a larger pic of the actual article. Yesiree … 26 Reasons from A through Z, and Huge was chosen for it’s particularly lovely use of the letter “H”.

Huge Magazine is billed as the “Internet’s Superchunky Arts and Leisure Magazine” and it’s where we used to go to let our creative hair down. Used to? Well, we’ve been so busy starting and growing DBD+A that we just don’t have any time left! But, thanks to this crazy new Blog technology, we’ll be resurrecting Huge sooner than you can say, “it’s bigger than big, it’s Huge!”

We’ve just completed Phase One of our own site’s re-design. Yes, we know that we still need to get our portfolio pages up, but in our defense we’d rather get our clients’ work done first before we spend any time on ourselves. JDM Site Re-design

DBD+A has completed a re-design of the JD Madison Web site. The new site is bigger, cleaner and even easier to navigate as well as now being more efficient to update as well.

Located in the Pearl District, JD Madison is the place to shop for distinctive, modern home furnishings in Portland, Oregon. According to Northwest Home + Garden Magazine, “If there’s one furniture store that embodies the Pearl District’s sophistication, it’s JD Madsion Home Furnishings.”

And not just a super-cool store, but lovely people as well! DBD+A is proud to create all of the print advertising and marketing collateral for JD Madison as well. Our ads can be seen in Portland Monthly, the Oregonian, Oregon Home, Zupan’s Fresh Ideas, and Explore the Pearl.
